Pumpkin Muffins

In case you haven’t picked it up already we love to bake in our house and finding the small business Mighty Chefs with their head quarters right next door to us is definitely a match made in heaven.

Mighty Chefs is a business that runs cooking classes and parties for children, 3-16 years in the West Yorkshire area.

Over half term and with Autumn in the air we jumped right in and made Pumpkin Muffins from the Mighty Chefs recipe collection. The recipe can be found here should you feel inspired to go and make your own, you really won’t regret it: http://www.mightychefs.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Mini-Pumpkin-Loaves.pdf

A few things that my daughter learnt from this baking experience to:

  • Start with the end in mind
  • Be independent
  • Read and follow instructions
  • Have patience and to be mindful of her actions
  • Grate
  • Weigh
  • Stir
  • Whisk
  • Mix
  • Portion out
  • Clean up

Cooking is a great way to build confidence and independence in your children.
